So You See
K.R. Copeland
I'm colorblind but find blood-red erotic.
My spotted retina spreads the spectrum's legs.
I haven't seen, but for my fingers' findings,
a keener shade of pink, a bald head's dreams.
My stream of consciousness undresses viewers
who'd rather skinny dip than read the news.
A catfish flaps and flails, a sailor's anus,
exposed, is boasting platinum scales and gold.
Amazing scales, and violets, multifold.
K.R. Copeland is a Chicago poet who prides herself on brevity,
versatility and a certain acerbic verve. Her work has appeared in
numerous
print and net venues including, The Absinthe Review, Stirring, Snow
Monkey,
Poems Niderngasse, Triplopia and Cranky.
She is also one of two
judges for
the Beginnings Magazine poetry competitions 2004.
