Wonderland Dress
Alice, rounded in a border defected dress
so now you know, you are enduringly
diminishing – you will forever be
blindsided in that negative scotoma. Will
you cast off that dress in the night, tremulous
in your new size, out-of-the-way down here
crowned in daisies, wobbly with a noise
your new body couldn’t hold in?
You would not be childish to believe
that the crow-ish grown-up world
is a mad tea party plum full of invisible
tea and if you're lucky, one square and yellowing dress.
