Amnesia

Jennifer Tawiah

With every gentle breeze
your fragrance clings
to strands of fabric,
hair and skin.
Increasing
frustration
tantalizes memory,
provokes thoughts
which linger on the
edge of my
recollection.

Eyes closed,
my senses awake,
every cell unfolds

with your aroma;
musky tobacco scent
so acute I feel it
in my chest.
My tongue trails
rivulets down your
spine, droplets
of rain mingled
with sweat.
Warm perfumed breath
chases goose-bumps
across shoulder blades;
my eyes drink your
golden-skinned bouquet.

Your smell
permeates
my pores.
I welcome you -
senses alive,
amnesia
forgotten.
