Supralurid has been missing in action for over a year now, and I feel a need to explain that. To be honest, though, I'm not really sure I can. I know the events in my life that have prevented me from dedicating myself to my dreams, but most of those are personal and don't belong here. Life is still rocky, and I'm not even sure where I'll be living in the next few months, so I'm not sure now is the best time to resurrect this magazine. Still, I need to start sometime. I would first like to apolgize to those who had submitted work for the elusive third issue and never heard back, or even worse, were offered publication. I lost most of the submissions due to computer problems. So, I am starting from scratch. Which brings me to the point: I am reopening Supralurid for submissions. (This is where you cheer.) Currently, we are accepting poetry, prose, and black and white photography/art, as per usual. Also, if you'd like to send me a copy of your chapbook for review, I hope to do three reviews (one of which I have already selected) in the upcoming issue. For those of you working in audio media/color arts, I am looking into the possibility of doing a CD issue or supplement. Don't bombard me with those submissions yet, though. I will announce it here and in the Sundress newsletter when I am ready to start working on that. A word of warning before I let you go: turn-around time on submissions may still be very slow. My life is still very rocky, so expect three to four weeks. Some replies will be immediate, while others will take over a month. I'm aiming for a three week maximum, but can't promise it. As always, if you haven't heard from me in a month and are wondering about your submission, or if your submissions have been accepted elsewhere, just email me. Thanks. --nicoLe sativa kurlish, editor and such. |
