Sundress Publications is the blanket site of the publications Stirring, Small Town, Wicked Alice, Not Just Air, and 21Stars Review as well as a small-press publication company. Stirring : A Literary Collection, founded by Erin Elizabeth Smith, is the most established having been publishing since September of 1999 and has printed poems by Sharon Olds, Dorianne Laux, and Thom Ward. Small Town is a biannual print poetry journal out of San Francisco edited by Logan Ryan Smith. Wicked Alice is a women-centered poetry journal, dedicated to publishing quality work, by both sexes, depicting and exploring the female experience. Not Just Air publishes verse, fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, essays, reviews, plays, and translations, all of which are given a multi-media treatment including illustrations, spoken-word performances, and flash movies. The editors at 21Stars Review have a strong leaning toward work that uses constraints, innovative meter and form, or carefully executed collage/cut-up techniques; they are also particularly interested in publishing new poets and prose writers.

Sundress Publications functions not only as a home to these publications, but also as an extensive resource for writers of all age and ability. We publish Slip, a site which reviews other online publications, as well as an add-your-own links collection. We also offer a monthly newsletter which features news from our own publications and information about new literary journals.

We are a non-discriminatory publication group which focuses on the creativity of all artists, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc. We do not, however, tolerate people who are unjustifiably rude, pointedly bigoted, or downright threatening. These traits are not appreciated and are disallowed in our chat rooms and forums.
